While fashion is ever changing, style is something that we chose to create blending comfort with the trends that resonate with us. In a bid to outdo each other and rope in the best promotional style, tinsel town celebs enlist the help of some of the most sought after fashion stylists. While some celebs maintain a pace of classy styles, sometimes their experimental looks fail to evoke a wow. This week, Anushka Sharma, Kriti Sanon, Kajol, Ileana D’Cruz and Vidya Balan stumbled into the worst dressed side.
In a confused tinsel town, where celebrities bear the potential to kickstart a trend, these celebs and their take on style certainly failed to strike a chord. Here is how it went down for them.
Styled by Allia Al Rufai, Anushka Sharma promoted her upcoming flick, Jab Harry Met Sejal wearing a beige LoveBirds for Bungalow 8 polka dotted jumpsuit teamed with Aquazzura sandals. While the look certainly looks uber-comfortable, it comes across quite dull and unlike Anushka Sharma’s usual sense of style.
Styled by Sukriti Grover, birthday girl Kriti Sanon indulged in some birthday revelries by cutting a cake with her co-stars from the upcoming flick, Bareilly Ki Barfi wearing a hand embroidered ensemble featuring a black crop top and antique gold skirt from the label Aekatri. While the crop top, chic hairdo and the statement earrings coupled with a subtle makeup were on point, the skirt was riddled with creases and did nothing to accentuate Kirti’s lithe and towering frame.
Promoting her upcoming Tamil comic drama, Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 (VIP 2) with South Indian superstar Dhanush, Kajol was snapped wearing a double layered red ensemble from Label Anushree teamed with tasselled earrings from Ritika Sachdeva. While the separates were perfect, we were left wondering about the choice of earrings as they clashed with the elegant look and failed to blend in. She was styled by Radhika Mehra.
Styled by Sanam Ratansi, Ileana was snapped wearing a Nomada print dress from Saaksha & Kinni clasped at the waist by a black belt from Urban Outfitters and teamed with earrings from Ritika Sachdeva and strappy heels from Tresmode. Sporting a bindi with a sleek centre parted low back pony, Ileana’s colour blocked trend is garish and unflattering.
Promoting her upcoming flick, Partition 1947 in Kolkata, Huma Qureshi was styled by Edward Lalrempuia and Smridhi Siba and chose an ensemble featuring a tropical bird jacket and an over layer tunic with cuff trouser pants from Nakita Singh and strappy Louboutin sandals. While the outfit is great, we wish Huma had swapped the sandals for something more appealing and left her hair open styled in some fun waves as opposed to the sleek style that’s killing the look entirely.
Although their sense of style failed to cater to our sensibilities, we certainly laud them for strutting with an enviable aplomb and hope they enchant us with some better styles. Until then, stay tuned and stay stylish.
