Whoa! After Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra to romance Akshay Kumar in the film based on Battle of Saragarhi?

The tale of Havaldar Ishar Singh from Battle of Saragarhi is turning out to be like that of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Everyone seems to be wanting to make a film on that epic tale. We know that Akshay Kumar is playing the role of Havaldar Ishar Singh in Anurag Singh’s film on the battle, which is apparently titled Kesar. The film is a joint collaboration between Salman Khan and Karan Johar’s production house. Akshay who is the poster boy of all patriotic films in recent times seems like the perfect bet. Now, news is the bubby Parineeti Chopra is also joining the film as the main female lead. It looks Pari has loved the subject and given it a nod. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Parineeti is on board for the period war drama. A source told the publication, “Parineeti plays a strong character and has really liked the script. The makers have started prep. Huge sets of the Saragarhi and Gulistan forts, as well as a village, will be erected in Wai, a town in Satara district.” This will be Parineeti’s second film with a superstar after sharing screen space with Ajay Devgn in Golmaal Again. The actress seems to be making some good choices. With her Indian-ness, she is perfect for it. The source also told the paper, “The actors will be provided with a lot of material for their parts and will start full-time prep close to the shooting date. The film is set to tentatively go on the floors in January next year.” However, Parineeti’s spokesperson refused to confirm the news. Akshay Kumar has finished work on R Balki’s Padman and is working on Reema Kagti’s period sports drama, Gold. It looks like the actor has an affinity for period films post flicks like Rustom (2016) and Airlift (2016). Parineeti will begin work on Namaste Canada with Arjun Kapoor as well. The Battle of Saragarhi is also getting a TV adaptation with Mohit Raina playing Havaldar Ishar Singh. It is made by Contiloe Productions. The Battle of Saragarhi  was fought on September 12, 1897 in North-West Frontier Province. The Sikh military personnel who were 21 in number fought with 10,000 Afghan Orakzai tribesman. They chose to die than surrender. It is considered as one of the greatest battles in Indian history.
