The news we have been waiting for is finally here! Thalapathy Vijay‘s Mersal has been passed with a U/A Certificate by the CBFC board. It’s a relief to know after facing multiple issues in the last few weeks, Mersal has emerged victorious. The controversies began first with someone contesting the title, then the TN theatres went on a strike in reaction to the double taxation policy, soon after the Animal Welfare board of India had an issue with a few scenes due to which the NOC wasn’t issued and that’s why the CBFC certificate was also not passed. Now all these hiccups are history. All’s well that ends well! The film will offically hit theatres in TN tomorrow along with revised ticket rates. Shows as early as 12;30 am have been organised. Cut outs of the star have already been created, it’s going to be quite the frenzy as Mersal finally comes to the theatres this Diwali Also Read: Mersal teaser: Vijay surprises you with his three different loo
The film has caught more attention because it’s Vijay’s second film with Atlee. Their first project together struck gold at the box office 2016 and gave Vijay one of his biggest hits. Mersal also happens to be Sri Thenandal Film’s 100th project. The film will have Vijay play three characters – a chieftan, doctor and magician set in three different time periods. Since he’s playing different characters, he will also be romancing three different leading ladies – Nithya Menen, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Kajal Aggarwal. The music composed by AR Rahman has received a big thumbs up from fans especially the song Alappuzha Tamizhan. Mersal’s teaser broke all records as it clocked in 20M views in 24 hours.
