Even after joining Krushna Abhishek’s The Drama Company, Ali Asgar is known for his role as Daadi in The Kapil Sharma Show. But however good he was playing Daadi and making us laugh, the actor turned comedian was not really happy with the development of his character. Ali confessed to Times Of India and said that this was one of the major reasons for him to walk out of Kapil’s show. He said, “I was not happy with the way my character shaped up, it had no definition. I felt people at some point would get bored watching me play grandmother and I had to do something else.”
“I would get little to do in the last few minutes of the episode. In the last over of a match, when two balls are remaining and you ask the batsman to hit 12 runs, how is that possible? I continued with it for a year and then I decided to plan my exit. Around that time, the unfortunate incident on the flight from Australia happened, which further fuelled the exit,” he adds. Well, this won’t be the first time that Ali has been vocal about how disapppointing he has been with his character on TKSS. But he also gave us a tiny hint that he might work with Kapil in the future. After the infamous mid-air fight between Kapil and Sunil Grover, which included other members of the show, too, a lot of comedians swore to never work with Kapil. Bharti Singh was also one of them. Though she joined the show a couple of weeks back. Sunil also swore to never go back to TKSS or work with Kapil ever. When asked if he would ever work with Kapil again after the fallout, Ali assured that TKSS was just a project that didn’t work for him and he has not taken an oath to never work with Kapil.
He said, “Maine koi kasam nahi khayi uske saath nai kaam karne ki. He was the captain of the ship where I used to work. That project did not work out, that’s it.” Well, what are your thoughts on this? Tell us in the comments below and stay hooked with us for more.
