Well, it’s confirmed now! Though Justice League was scheduled to release in US and many other countries on November 17, it was not confirmed whether the movie will release in India due to screen distributions. But superhero movies fans would be glad to hear that Justice League will make the date on November 17 in India and will also be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs in 3D, 2D and IMAX screens too. Warner Bros. brings the superhero saga to India.
But Justice League is not the only movie to come out on that Friday. Earlier, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, was supposed to be a solo release on the date. However now that it got postponed to December 1, Vidya Balan’s slice of life drama Tumhari Sulu took on that vacated slot. But now it looks like Vidya Balan will have to battle a legion of superheroes to make some sort of impression at the box office. What works against Tumhari Sulu is that both Justice League and Tumhari Sulu are multiplex movies. Vidya Balan is not having a great time at the box office thanks to the debacle of Kahaani 2 and this year’s Begum Jaan.
On the other hand, three of DC’s previous superhero movies Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman have done wonderful business in India, especially the last. Wonder Woman was both critically acclaimed and had a good run at the box office this year. So Justice League that bring her with Batman, Superman, The Flash and Aquaman (and if we are lucky enough, Green Lantern too) is definitely the more anticipated one!
Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder with Joss Whedon backing up as additional support. It stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Raymond Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ezra Miller as The Flash. Speaking about the League coming together Wonder Woman Gal Gadot said, “I just hope that audiences will enjoy the movie, and also hope they enjoy the dynamic of the League working together. It’s just a wonderful group of actors, and they all bring their own unique qualities to their characters. So, I hope the audience feels like they’re part of the team and will come along for the ride.”
