Akshay Kumar clears the air around the controversial stalking scenes in Toilet Ek Prem Katha

When the first trailer of Toilet Ek Prem Katha hit the internet, it was loved by fans all over for its approach towards a sensitive subject. But controversy was just around the corner. You see, when the first song, Hans Mat Pagli, featuring the two main leads, was released it was not met with the same positive response as the trailer. The music video of the song had Akshay stalking the heroine Bhumi as if it were a 90’s film – when such things were a norm. But since this is 2017, a hell lot of people took offense over the blatant stalking which extends to the point where the character clicks pictures of the girl without her consent. There was an uproar against the scenes on social media. Finally, Akshay has broken his silence on the entire fiasco and given his two cents to the controversy. He says that whole act was taken out of context.

“No doubt in that song, I am clicking her photograph, but when you see the film, you will realise that the girl knows about it. Sometimes the girl knows it, the guy knows it, she lets it go because she wants him to have her photograph. Later on, you will see in the film that she is also doing that, she is also clicking my photograph. It’s a love thing.” the actor said while talking to the media today.

Further Akshay gave his own example that he too is stalked by the paparazzi. “When I also come from somewhere, the paparazzi is standing, kisi ka baap mujh se nahi puchta ki main aapki photo kheechu. They take it na? That time what should I say, they are stalking me?” he added. Also Read: Akshay Kumar confirms Battle of Saragarhi not shelved but unsure of Salman Khan producing it

Finally putting sense into all this and concluding the conversation he said, “But having said that, it is a wrong thing to click a picture of a woman without asking her and you should not. But this is a film and it is going along with what is happening. And I am not preaching that, it is just along with the film. But I had not seen in that light, how it is being perceived. That’s it!”
