An unknown entity walks upto the throne of Devasena and out of the blue, the seat is set ablaze. When Devasena and her family approach the throne, nobody knows who was sitting on it or how the incident occurred. While everybody panicked, Devasena reminisced what the soothsayer lady said about the five men who would play hurdles in her life. Varundev decides that he needs to befriend a Dravidian before anyone guesses that he’s not from around. The guards find out a man who has the kingdom map. He finds a man too, for the same. Turns out the man he will be working for is the palace’s gardener. When the soldiers come to interrogate the identity of Varundev, the gardener immediately comes to the rescue. Varundev plots a plan to meet the princess Devasena as well as kill her as well.
The match to win the heart of Devasena begins as the contestants are asked to start the fight with Devasena herself. The person who is contesting to woo Devasena is Mahisha, who fights it out with her. Having won the fight herself, the king announces that Mahisha will be beheaded, as a part of the deal. The guards instantly take away Mahisha as Devasena is left wondering. She doesn’t wish for him to be killed as she reveals that she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself if anything happened to Mahisha. On the other hand, queen Sambhavija has already let go off the man. While all this drama takes place, Varundev manages to escape from his owner to fulfill his mission, that is, killing Devasena.
She, on the other hand, gets a weird dream where a snake is coming into her room through the window. She wakes up to realise that perhaps it could be Hahuma, who is trying to tell her something. Devasena then decides to go to Hahuma’s temple. Right when she takes an exit, Varundev enters her room. At the temple, Hahuma reveals that the reason why this match has been held is to find out the five men who would pose a threat to Devasena’s life.
